Better than any store bought

After seven months, Gavin and I completed our ABC book.

However, as I mentioned, it didn't turn into a book, due to googly eyes and gemstones. 

Those things can't be laminated.

 It won't last forever. 

But it does make for a great wall covering in the meantime.

I'm sure I'll punch some holes in the sides and put some rings through it to save it awhile, but inevitably, it isn't going to last.

THIS, however, WILL last!

Gavin's very own, personalized, created by himself, ABC book!

I've created books with the blog, which I love, but I didn't want something so big.

At first, I attempted creating it through Walmart and Riteaid, but the set up they have is for multiple pictures per page. After a few attempts to arrange ONE large picture per page with no luck, my patience was done, and I turned to something new. 

New is good.

Hopefully this winter once the weather turns real cold, we will start a lower-case edition :)

Our ABC book is complete! Exactly SEVEN months from the day we started! Haha!

26 letters in roughly 182 days.

It didn't even turn into a book.

It's my current wall mural :)

The Letter Z

Z is for Zebra

Finishing our alphabet off with some paint!

 I stuck a few cut-outs of tape on a piece of white paper and let him cover the entire thing with black.

He loves to paint!

But yah.....I did the face painting. He wanted to watch Mater's Tall Tales.

The Letter Y

Y is for Yak

X is for X-ray

(X is a hard one)

Gavin thought and still believes that X is merely to mark the spot.

The Letter W

W is for Watermelon.

A summer favorite. Actually, a favorite all day, any day.

Excellent job making small dots with the glue today, buddy!

Perfect for this gloomy, looks like rain, kinda day.

S is for Snake.

Appropriate, because Grandpa took Gavin snake hunting last week.

They discovered two at the WW Knight Preserve.

A BIG snake that slithered down into the water.

And a little snake along a path.

Be careful, Grandpa. Don't get him bitten on one of your snake hunts.

And if you come across one that resembles this one.....stay back!

R is for Rocket.

Red Rocket to be specific.

We're going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship!

(You're welcome, Little Einstein fans)

 We also colored a rainbow for R.

Q is for Mommy!!

Hehe. No really, Q is for Queen.

(which IS Mommy)

But not according to Gavin.

Gavin: "You not a queen Mommy, you are a girl."

Me: "So what are queens?"

Gavin: "Queens are fairies".

Interesting.

(which March certainly came in as this year)

 Tonight, Gavin did lots of cutting. He didn't have enough energy to do the glue.

"I don't have any energy for this. Could you get me some chocolate milk? Chocolate milk will bring back my energy."

So I did the glue dots.

Sorry kid. That backfired on you.

He put his cut up pieces on for the mane.

 And afterwards we had dinner. With a glass of chocolate milk.
