Glow bath

I saw this on Pinterest several weeks ago and thought, what a GREAT idea. Fun in the tub and no clean-up. Our other favorite bath time involves paint and shaving cream.(it's messy, but it's worth it)
Bubble baths aren't too bad after a few beach towels on the floor, either.
And even more fun is bathing in the dark.
Cooooool!
We also learned we can make shadow puppets on the back of tub when we hold them up just right.

It's warmin' up quick!

Monday was a snow day for all schools in the surrounding area.
Tuesday we went to the park. Merely jacket weather, with lots of mud.
Wednesday is 70 degrees! A little blustery, but a gorgeous day for the park. Again.
This time with our muddin' boots and an entire loaf of bread :)
"Is this a good size piece, Mommy?"
Perfect.
 Throw it in!

The Letter L

L is for Lion
(which March certainly came in as this year)
Tonight, Gavin did lots of cutting. He didn't have enough energy to do the glue.

"I don't have any energy for this. Could you get me some chocolate milk? Chocolate milk will bring back my energy."

So I did the glue dots.

Sorry kid. That backfired on you.

He put his cut up pieces on for the mane.
And afterwards we had dinner. With a glass of chocolate milk.

Oh, Gavin

Tonight we were playing airplanes.
This game consists of me getting the old red airplane that I picked up at a garage sale, and Gavin getting the super cool Imaginext Wind Scorpion airplane that he received at Christmas from Aunt Jan and Uncle Mike. That is fully equipped with a driver, two missiles that shoot, and a claw grabber in the front.

I need not tell you who won every single battle, do I?

The game then turned into flying around the living room, over and under tables, and finally to a hiding place under the trampoline.

While hiding, I asked the obvious...."What are we hiding from?"

"Monsters!!" Duh

And from the kitchen at that very moment, Chance gave a low quick growl.

I'm thinking perfect timing, good boy.

Gavin didn't have the same reaction.

He exclaims, "Mommy!! You tooted!"

I wasn't sure to laugh at this or be embarrassed that he thinks Mommy tooting sounds like a dog growl.

Trying to color our life with rainbows

It's been a tough couple weeks.
So we needed a new window to freshen things up.
Rainbows are always a good mood, right? :)
I bought a big piece of poster board and drew a rainbow.
I outlined each line with a color.
Then I let Gavin fill the entire thing in with paint.
He did a phenomenal job staying in the lines.
It is March now. So what better to go with our rainbow then our Leprechaun we made a few days ago after copying an idea from Life on the Homefront.
A small tantrum resulted with a crazy Van Gogh moment. But with a little glue, Mr. Leprechaun was whole again.
And what do we find under every rainbow??
A happy March window.

Thank you, Grandpa Buzz for the new Kodak Easyshare. I was going a little nuts trying to use my camera phone for pictures.
(all pics were taken with cell in this post except the last one)
